day 23 → Something you wish you had done in your life.
I wish I had valued myself and my talents more throughout my life and given them the chance to breathe and flourish. I wish I had nurtured myself as an creative person specifically a screenwriter and found work that matched me creatively.
I have always loved films and have been writing screenplays since I was a child. I have a stack of unfinished screenplays and about 15 or so movie ideas, I’ve read and perhaps own most of the classic screenwriting books, I’ve been part of a screenwriting group and pitched my idea to the producer of Sling Blade. I even taught screenwriting to my 6th graders and studied the script for Life is Beautiful with them.
I’ve always wanted to live in California, write films, perhaps even direct films at some point as well. My ultimate dream is to get an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. I’ve read and studied Academy Award winning screenplays and have been a huge movie buff most of my life.
I wish I had really pushed through my fears and doubts about my abilities as a screenwriter.
Although, I have moved away from this dream in the last few years and focused on the huge job of starting my own business, I have not given up on this passion of mine. I’m not sure when I will go back to it, but I know it is there, waiting for me, when the time is right.

This is exactly what catapulted me into starting my own blog. I had become so far removed from writing and reading for enjoyment that I needed to immerse myself in it again. When you are ready to jump back into your passion, you will. The important thing is that it is still something that you are deeply interested in and that lights that spark inside of you. By the way, the blog looks fantastic. I am very proud of you.
Thank you Maria, you were my inspiration to get it going again!
